The Residential Counselor provides direct patient care duties, including group treatment and other aspects of their treatment of psychiatric disorders, behavioral health disorders or related disorders; to ensure the safety and well-being of these patients; to support the maintenance of therapeutic milieu. The Residential Counselor is responsible of maintaining the overall milieu management and safety of patient and staff in the unit and collaborating effectively with Supervisors, Therapists, and Management.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience Preferred: prior experience, working with psychiatric and/or adolescent/children or college courses related to Sociology, Psychology or related field.

Additional Requirements: Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Pre-employment Drug Test. Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of Handle with Care prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 7 days of employment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
