Duration: 6 Months

Pay rate: $30.29/hr on W2

Note: Skin TB test required before start


General Physical Demands

Summary:
The Risk Adjustment Coder is responsible for conducting Electronic Medical Record (EMR) chart audits for prospective Medicare Risk Adjustment (MRA) ICD-10 codes (International Classification of Diseases, version 10)/Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding in advance of patient visits. This position will prepare coding review for the physician to utilize at the patient visit using the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) coding guidelines. This role will also complete health risk assessments for insurance companies on their portals.

Responsibilities:
* Conduct chart review in advance of patient visits for risk adjusting codes/HCCs. Create an electronic accurate and professional coding review for the provider's review.
* Review upcoming appointment spreadsheet to identify patients in need of coding review, update and maintain spreadsheet as needed
* Use of professional and accurate documentation for each MRA code with supporting information provided.
* Complete Health Risk Assessments or Attestations after visit for insurance companies to obtain additional revenue for clinic.
* Assist the department with requested tasks to satisfy deadlines.
* Maintain quality and productivity standards for coding review, code selection, and quantity of charts per day.
* Enter and maintain member records in electronic health record system, compile reports and complete other program documentation in a timely manner (e.g., progress notes, letters), and other administrative responsibilities as needed.

Required Skills/Must have
* High school diploma or GED
* Certified Risk Coder (CRC)
* Knowledge of MRA coding
