Position Description:

We are looking for a Professional Planner to join our Community Design Team to improve infrastructure in our Tampa office. The candidate must have an AICP Certification with a bachelor's degree in Planning or related field and have at least five years of related experience. Master planning, urban design, zoning ordinance updates, economic development planning, neighborhood planning, community planning, downtown planning, public involvement, and smart growth/resiliency land use issues experience is required. GIS experience is preferred. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment.
Typical responsibilities include:
  • Gather and analyze community profile data (census, national resources, existing land use, socio-economic analysis etc.)
  • Complete site plan reviews, recreation plans, Master Plan analysis, zoning ordinances and comprehensive or master plans, etc.
  • Complete or review building permits, variances, rezoning, land use amendment, and other planning or zoning applications
  • Research and manipulate data using GIS Perform research for comprehensive planning, land development codes, and other planning items
  • Write reports and letters (Master Plans, CDBG, Staff Reports, etc.)
  • Estimate fees and determine scope of work
  • Conduct project specific research through interviews, literature review, etc
  • Maintain project production
  • Assist with business development and develop proposals and technical/public presentations
  • Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare proposals
  • Maintain excellent client relations through meetings, telephone calls, etc.
  • Attend night meetings and weekend meetings
  • Participate in various meetings (staff, client, elected and appointed officials, community, etc.) and extensive public input and communication
  • Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Planning or related field is required
Skills/Experience:
  • Bachelor"s Degree in Planning or related field
  • AICP Certification
  • Five or more years of experience
