Position Description:
We are looking for a Construction Engineer to join our Construction Team in our Tampa office. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in civil or construction engineering and at least three years' experience with construction related projects. Individuals must have strong communication skills, be self-motivated and able to work well with others.
Typical responsibilities include:- Interpret Contract Documents (i.e., Plans and Specifications, Addenda, etc)
- Schedule and coordinate inspection and testing staff, including subconsultants staff, when applicable.
- Conduct field inspections for pressure tests, soil densities, proctors, concrete pours, etc.
- Measure for payment field quantities and maintain log for each of the Contract Pay Items.
- Maintain project files and a marked-up set of Contract Plans during construction
- Prepare daily field reports during construction
- Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections
- Review submittals and misc. technical data for adherence with project requirements
- Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
- Assist with the review of field changes, including resolution of field changes caused by utility conflicts.
- Monitor task budget and progress
- Prepare project status reports
- Assist in the review of cost proposals
- Assist in the response to Requests For Information (RFI)
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings, including progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.
- Attend seminars and/or training classes
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Bachelor of Science in civil or construction engineering
- 3+ years' experience with construction related projects
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent communication skills
