Dynamet Incorporated's Clearwater, FL facility, is a leading domestic and international supplier of titanium alloy products. Acquired by Carpenter in 1997, Dynamet supplies titanium bar, wire, fine wire, strip, and precision shapes for the aerospace, medical, consumer, motorsports and recreation industries. Committed to offering excellence and innovation in the manufacture of titanium and other specialty metal products, Dynamet ensures strict quality controls through its testing and analysis laboratory. Dynamet is a member of Carpenter's Performance Engineered Products division and maintains a second manufacturing facility in Washington, PA.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Clearwater, Florida

The Manufacturing Engineer will . . .

  • Manage the upgrade, rebuild, installation and start-up of process equipment. Provides leadership in the development of new equipment specifications.
  • Analyze key process measures and determine major issues and their root causes.
  • Identify equipment safety issues and implement solutions. In addition, provide technical assistance and an interface function on process, product, and maintenance problems.
  • Manage outside resources including contractors, equipment vendors, and supply vendors for assigned projects. Work within and develop the appropriate standards, specifications, and procedures, including but not limited to those required for production, technical, safety, and environmental activities. Manage ordering of parts and supplies using Permac. Define equipment engineered rates.
  • Review new process equipment and make recommendations for purchase/installation. Manage the implementation of moderate sized capital projects.
  • Responsible for parts and supply development and reverse engineering. Understands opportunities for OEE improvements and leads OEE improvement initiatives.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required for the Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Two-year college degree and 3+ years of engineering support experience. Four-year college degree preferred.
  • Manufacturing in metals preferred.
  • Strong working experience with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Proven coaching, facilitation and organizational skills with a track record of successful change management. Must be proactive, creative and a hands-on change agent.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Self-started who can creatively drive continuous improvement on their own initiative with minimal guidance.
