MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Location: Clearwater, Florida

POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for performing electrical and mechanical maintenance throughout the manufacturing plant. This includes servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing facility systems and manufacturing equipment. Persons working in this role are expected to be proficient working with electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Specific equipment includes PLC's, AC/DC drives, HMI's, electric motors/pumps, gears/pulleys, drivetrains, generators, pneumatic/hydraulic motion systems, liquid/gas piping systems, electrical distribution and others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform technical troubleshooting and repair of facility and manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer's recommendations and/or established procedures.
  • Read and understand blueprints, equipment manuals, specifications, standard operating procedures, and be able to use proper judgement when taking corrective actions during equipment malfunction.
  • Continuously increase job knowledge, technical proficiency, and problem-solving skills.
  • Utilize a variety of mobile support equipment as required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Support a lean manufacturing culture through the relentless pursuit of eliminating waste in the manufacturing and maintenance processes.
  • Consistently demonstrate strong leadership qualities and effective interpersonal skills to drive a professional, respectful work environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Requires the ability to pass a pre-employment test which includes a background check, physical including drug and alcohol screen.
  • One (1) year of relevant mechanical experience in industrial manufacturing
  • Skilled problem-solver able to read and interpret technical documents, including maintenance manuals.
  • Basic hand tools and power tools. Calipers and micrometers. Must be able to use a multi-meter such as a fluke.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions preferred.
  • Physical Demands/Work Environment - while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:Reach with hands and arms, stand; walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift and or move 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
