Job Description

This position requires an active Secret clearance.

The Facility Manager shall provide a facility manager for the Killey Center which consist of three (3) buildings (1210, 1212, and 1214).

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Facility Manager: Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Facility Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure the optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical, and fire/life safety through planned maintenance inspections (PMI).
  • Use AF Form 332, Base Civil Engineer Work Request, and Microsoft (MS) office to initiate and document repairs, deficiencies, alterations, and new construction.
  • Coordinate support functions (such as vendors, custodial, security, fire, safety, health and environmental, and network infrastructure).
  • Verify projects are in compliance with building codes, regulations, and life safety standards.
  • Maintain and update documents and records using automated systems.
  • Serve as the energy conservation monitor.
  • Maintain key control. Keys that are not assigned to specific individuals shall not be removed from the installation without approval from the COR.
  • Respond to fire department or security forces emergency calls to the Killey Center.
  • Be a liaison to the COR for the custodial contract within the Killey Center.
  • Coordinate between the 325th FW and AFNORTH/AFSPACE regarding facility issues.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Facility Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in facility managment.
  • Previous experience in facility management or a related field is often preferred. This could include roles in property management, operations, or maintenance.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills are essential. Facility managers often oversee a team of staff and contractors, so experience in a managerial or supervisory role is valuable.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently. Facility managers are often faced with unexpected challenges, and the ability to think on your feet is crucial.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Facility Management Professional (FMP) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM), can enhance your credibility.
  • Effective communication is key. Facility managers interact with various stakeholders, from employees to vendors, and clear communication ensures everyone is on the same page.
  • Managing multiple tasks, projects, and priorities is a daily reality for facility managers. Strong organizational skills are a must.
  • Understanding the technical aspects of facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) is beneficial for effective management and decision-making.
  • Handle budgets for maintenance, repairs, and improvements. Financial acumen is valuable.
  • The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities is crucial in a dynamic work environment.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers. Being able to secure favorable terms is a valuable skill.
  • Building and leading a cohesive team is important for the successful operation of a facility.
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and codes is a key responsibility.
