We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to serve as a Summer Camp Site Director. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of our summer camp program, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and educational experience for campers and staff.

Department: Workforce and Professional Development

Hours: 29 - Temporary Position (8-weeks)

Compensation: $25.00 per hour

Location: St Pete/Gibbs Campus June 3, 2024-July 26, 2024

The Site Director is responsible for providing a creative, academic learning opportunity for the students at the College for Kids Summer Camp.

  • Curriculum Development (8-16 hours additional):
    • Develop comprehensive and engaging curriculum for camp activities aligned with the camp's mission and goals.
    • Provide guidance and support to camp instructors to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum.
  • Parent Interaction:
    • Greet and communicate with parents/guardians during camper sign-in and sign-out.
    • Address any parental inquiries, concerns, or feedback in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Program Organization:
    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all camp activities, including field trips, special events, and daily schedules.
    • Ensure the smooth execution of activities, maintaining a balance between fun, safety, and educational value.
  • Staff Supervision:
    • Supervise camp instructors and support staff.
    • Conduct regular staff meetings, provide guidance, and evaluate performance.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and camp policies.
    • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • 7:30a.m. - 2:30 p.m. $25.00 per hour (Temporary part time position) 29 hours per week.
  • State of Florida certified teacher (preferred)

The Site Director:

  • reports directly to the SPC Staff/Coordinator
  • observes the impact of learning activity on the students and makes adjustments as necessary
  • is dependable in attendance, flexible and strives with other staff for a common goal
  • is responsible for exercising good judgment in activities that could endanger the child
  • any other duties as assigned
