Minimum Qualifications:
- in Digital Media, Graphic Design, Videography, Web Design, or a related discipline.
- Ability to teach and credential in two or more of the following discipline specific areas: Video Production, Graphic Design, Illustration, Web Design, UI/UX, Photography, 2D Design, 3D Design, Printmaking,Ceramics, or Drawing.
- Post-secondary teaching experience beyond graduate-level teaching assistant work.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and people skills.
- Full-time work experience in the field of Digital Media, Graphic Design, Videography, Web Design, or a related discipline.
- Established academic or professional career with promise of development, and nationally or internationally recognized research and/or creative scholarship.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D.) in Digital Media, Graphic Design, Videography, Web Design, or related discipline.
- 5+ years full-time work experience in the field of Digital Media, Graphic Design, Videography, Web Design, or a related discipline.
- Management work experience in the field of Digital Media, Graphic Design, Videography, Web Design, or a related discipline.
- Experience with Learning Management System D2L (Desire to Learn/MyCourses).
- Quality Matters and/or ACUE Certification
- Experience teaching in traditional, asynchronous online, and live online environments.
- Demonstrated commitment to an inclusive and rigorous learning environment.
- Ability to work with learners of diverse backgrounds, ages, and educational needs.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and people skills.
- Experience with college service, community outreach and recruiting activities.
- Experience designing curriculum and courses.

- Experience staging and hanging artwork for gallery exhibitions.
- Experience with documenting and editing digital images of 2D and 3D art objects.

Preferred Digital Media Experience (will depend on specialization):
- Video Production
- Professional video production experience including preproduction, capture, editing, and publishing.
- Expertise in NLE video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid, and experience with other Adobe Creative Cloud software used for time-based editing like After Effect, Photoshop, and Audition.
- Experience with 2D and 3D animation and/or motion graphics.
- Knowledge of podcasting and live broadcasting practices.
- Ability to teach basic sound editing required for video production.
- On set TV production experience.
- Ability to operate different types of video cameras used for video production.
- Experience working with green screen and production booth equipment.
- Graphic Design
- Professional work experience in the field of graphic design and/or production for graphic design.
- Ability to teach foundational graphic design topics like the elements and principles of design, typography, page layout design, branding, packaging design, and more.
- Proficiency using technical software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator to create production ready designs for digital and print needs.
- Knowledge of industry standard production practices for both digital and print output.
- Working knowledge of the considerations graphic designers must make when designing for various printing processes (offset lithography, screen printing, flexography, gravure, inkjet digital, and laser digital).
- Experience with web and UI/UX design.
- Digital Art & Illustration
- Experience creating digital art as a form of artistic expression.
- Experience creating digital art as a paid working professional.
- Expertise in digital drawing (vector) and digital painting (raster) techniques and practices.
- Proficiency using digital illustration software to create digital illustrations (Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Painter, Procreate, etc.).
- Working knowledge of digital and print output methods used by digital artists.
- Web Design
- Professional work experience creating websites using standard web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Documented experience in UI/UX, prototyping, and responsive web design practices.
- Knowledge of SEO techniques, social media platforms, web security, and e-commerce.
- Knowledge of mobile app and interactive design.
- Familiarity with version control, GIT, automation tools, testing, and debugging tools.
- An understanding of W3C Web standards and effective user-interface design and navigation.
- Knowledge of WordPress, CMS platforms, and related technologies and tools.
Expectations:
- Teach existing courses and develop new multidisciplinary undergraduate art courses relating to individual's area of expertise
- Candidate must address the needs of a student population of great diversity-in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language, and academic preparation-through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.

- Teach five (5) courses each semester Fall & Spring and two (2) courses in Summer. This is a 15-15-6 contract.
- The expected start date for the position is August 2024.
Position Summary:
A faculty member at SPC has the primary function of instruction, coaching and student development. Secondary functions include assisting the college in developing and maintaining a quality program of instruction, providing service to the college and continuing professional development.

Experience: College level teaching experience required. Related work experience preferred for technical programs.
