Compensation: $81,637.30 - $98,985.23

JOB SUMMARY

The Assessment Director serves as the lead facilitator for program accreditation in the College of Education, provides guidance and assistance with program-specific accreditation and reaccreditation processes, and maintains the departmental accreditation website.

Candidates should have previous experience in assessment and accreditation processes, interfacing with state and national accreditation bodies, knowledge of managerial principles, project coordination techniques, research and data analysis principles and practices, assessment and measurement principles, research instruments, and statistical methods. Candidates should have a master's degree (doctorate preferred) in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Research, or in a related field to assigned area, with courses in educational research, design, and statistics. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of those requirements.

The Assessment Director assures that all the data elements needed to address accreditation criteria, and for program assessment activities, are collected in a timely, accurate, and appropriate manner. Responsibilities also include coordinating the efforts of various working committees and serving as the College of Education's primary point of contact with the Florida Department of Education.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provides oversight; directs internal operations, which includes planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; and works to integrate and coordinate service areas.
  • Performs the gathering, organization, and compilation of data evaluation and assessment; reports related data and information; performs the analysis of internal and external research and/or planning projects; and reviews and disseminates research requests and associated processes.
  • Develops and facilitates implementation of assessment plans for administrative and faculty use; works with administrators and faculty to develop assessment processes, data collection, analyses, best practices, and continuous program improvement efforts.
  • Meets, consults with, and makes key decisions with applicable College of Education staff regarding data collection and analyses; and communicates and status and results with faculty and staff.
  • Reviews a variety of reports summarizing research data; analyzes related reports and/or data; and makes recommendations based on findings.
  • Maintains documentation of program and College of Education accreditation processes.
  • May serve as the College of Education's contact with the Florida Department of Education Bureau of Teacher Certification.
  • Oversees the College of Education's assessment system and produce and maintain electronic documentation for assessment including accreditation compliance documents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Master's degree in curriculum and assessment, higher education, educational administration or closely related area; three (3) years of related accreditation and assessment in a College of Education; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Current or former teaching license preferred.

Work performed is primarily:
