Fiduciary Trust International, the HNW division of Franklin Templeton, is hiring a Retirement-Relationship Associate (HNW Custody) to work in our St. Petersburg, FL location on a hybrid basis, approximately one day per month. The Retirement-Relationship Associate serves as a primary point of contact for clients' daily requests and is responsible for delivering consistent, high quality account service and administration of retirement accounts with the objective of driving long-term satisfaction, client retention, resolving client inquiries, and ensuring regulatory oversight while helping our clients manage their retirement accounts.

Primary Responsibility is Client Administration and Regulatory Oversight of Retirement Accounts:

The Retirement-Relationship Associate serves as subject matter expert for the organization regarding all retirement account policies, procedures, compliance, and IRS/ERISA regulations.

  • Advanced understanding of laws, regulations, and policies related to retirement accounts.

  • Work with Portfolio & Relationship Managers to deliver client satisfaction by providing regulatory expertise, proactively identifying, and resolving client issues.

  • Analyze relevant documents and forms related to complex beneficiary designations, contributions, distributions, and prohibited transactions.

  • Explain IRA beneficiary options to eligible beneficiaries

  • Provide oversight and guidance of IRA policies & procedures

  • Independently manage all follow-up and ongoing deliverables by interacting with internal and external clients

  • Process Charitable Contributions and IRA Contributions

  • Execute daily account administration activities, process clients' instructions, and follow through with involved parties

  • Process Required Minimum Distributions / IRA Withdrawals

  • Review account opening contracts and required documents

  • Process account closings, transfer documents, and coordinate outbound transfers

  • Prepare fee adjustments letters and update fee events

  • Monitor daily cash overdrafts, and apply cash receipts and wire transfers

  • Regularly speak with HNW and UHNW clients; respond to clients' retirement related questions

Additional Responsibilities include Client Management:

  • Communicate retirement account legislation changes or updates to appropriate departments

  • Understand client satisfaction levels, identify and solution client's concerns

  • Participate in client meetings at the discretion of Portfolio Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business related field preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant financial services industry experience

  • IRA and Defined Contribution knowledge and experience

  • Prior Retirement Services / IRA regulatory and compliance oversight experience

  • Prior client relationship experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work well independently and effectively in a hybrid / remote environment; must be able to self-manage time and be available during normal business hours

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to function effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to manage challenging external clients and special situations

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and adapt to changing workloads and deadlines

  • Strong analytical ability

Compensation Range: Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $65K-75K base pay plus an opportunity to earn a discretionary bonus. Actual salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's experience and skill level.
