Responsibilities

Job Description:

The Business Analyst(s) who supports Special Operations Forces (SOF) overall objective is to assess the migration of workloads and applications to the cloud, supported by comprehensive cloud migration planning services. To achieve this, these cloud migration planning services must meet applicable business, technical, security, management, and administrative objectives. Cloud migration services should align with enterprise service delivery model objectives and support SOFs' ability to deliver sustainable services.

    Enable strategic decisions by SOF to effectively migrate applications to the cloud, maximizing cost reduction and efficiency of IT environment.
  • Provide maximum alignment to FDCCI and DoD CIO requirements and cloud migration mandates and requirements, amplifying SOF's ability to achieve management objectives.
  • Provide cloud migration services that accommodate considerations from an enterprise perspective including impact on SOF's business units, contracts, management, and technical components (application, infrastructure, and security).
  • Provide all support operations necessary to fully develop and deliver services for the appropriate phases (Inventory, Application Mapping / Transaction Profiling, Migration Planning) and future sustainment.
  • Serves as deputy to the PM/Scrum Master. Also responsible for the process mapping of all required tasks to deliver to agile user stories.

Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

  • Provide expert analytical advice to the Government on matters relating to people, process and technology in migrating to the Cloud. This includes analyzing, assessing, and providing recommendations for improving or simplifying command-wide and/or SOF business processes and applications.
  • Communicate orally and in writing with groups or individuals, using multiple digital media and transmission means, to collect and convey information.
  • Identify process gaps and organizational inefficiencies using process improvement methodologies such as Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and Business Process Re-engineering.
  • Apply analytical methods and techniques to assess the organization's information exchange requirements using knowledge of strategic documents and SOF Enterprise operations.
  • Document business process solutions using industry standard flowcharting and documentation conventions in the form of service requests, requirements and specification documents, business process modeling and/or Microsoft Visio.
  • Provide technical documentation for each process that includes the policy and/or procedure underpinnings necessary for the Government to publish official documents that dictate processes, procedures, and security requirements associated with each development effort.
  • Provide user documentation for each new process delivered. Documentation shall be delivered as portal wikis or other accessible platforms.
  • Develop and implement quantitative and qualitative methods for measuring the impact of process improvement and KM initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements, and interface with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of end-user reporting solutions.
Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering and 3+ years Business Analyst Experience
  • Process improvement methodologies such as: Agile, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Business Process Re-engineering
  • Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills:

  • Agile training
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree desired

Security Clearance:

  • At least an active Secret clearance is required, TS/SCI is preferred.
