We are currently seeking a (Remote) Project Manager, Women in Philanthropy. This position can work from any location in the United States.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

The Fundraising Programs and Segment strategy team brings forth high quality, consistent fundraising programs, and provides strategic guidance on large asks. Programs are launched, maintained and refined to ensure they reflect the organization's strategic priorities and support fundraisers across the Red Cross network. The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the new Women in Philanthropy (WIP) initiative that seeks to expand female engagement and giving, positioning the American Red Cross as the charity of choice for women. The Project Manager will work as a liaison across giving segments, coordinating the activities, timelines and measuring key performance indicators amongst key stakeholders. Bodies of work focus on audits, reporting, engagement strategies and communication tactics across segments.

In addition, the Project Manager will support the Tiffany Circle, the organization's premier giving society and affinity group focused on women giving $10,000 or more to the mission. The Project Manager will work closely with key volunteer donors and staff leaders to support the committee structure of the Tiffany Circle National Council. Additionally, the Project Manager will support the national team on leading the biennial Tiffany Circle Summit.


Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Oversee Women in Philanthropy project milestones and performance as compared to WIP workplan goals, scope, resources, and project timeline.
  • Coordinate activity and manage timelines of body of work owners and segment leads to meet goals and objectives.
  • Communicate project progress and key information to senior leaders, executive steering committee, external stakeholders, and identified Red Crossers as appropriate, by preparing presentations, talking points and conducting other analysis.
  • Develop and prepare written project plans for complex projects addressing, tasks, roles and responsibilities, risk, resources, budget and communications, as needed.
  • Supports Tiffany Circle National Council and its committee structure, providing organization guidance, committee management and meeting support. Current committees include: Communications and Resources, Governance, and Division Teams.
  • Serves as primary project manager for the Tiffany Circle Summit, including, but not limited to third party vendors (hotel, A/V, catering, etc.).
  • Assist in other fundraising projects as assigned in consultation with supervisor to achieve organization wide campaign targets.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):

  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Project Management, Communications, Business, Organizational Development or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven years related experience working with a nonprofit in fundraising, marketing, volunteer services, direct service, and/or project management.
  • Experience with fundraising principles and techniques.
  • A high degree of organizational, analytical and project management skills, including ability to anticipate risks, analyze and manage data, problem solve, and develop strategic and creative solutions.
  • Comfort working with senior leadership and demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to communicate, empower and collaborate with volunteer donors.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, prioritize, articulate, and execute strategies in a complex and changing environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and negotiation.
  • Motivation, strong initiative and ability to foster collaboration across multiple teams. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple perspectives to achieve program goals.
  • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy in difficult or sensitive situations.
  • Ability to perform and thrive under pressure in a rapidly changing and multidimensional environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation is necessary.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is required and with Salesforce and PowerBI is desired.
  • Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs.
  • Willingness to work outside standard established business hours, and up to 20% of business travel, are required.
  • Passion for the mission of the American Red Cross.

*Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

* Compensation: The Salary for this position is: $88,000.00 - $96,000.00

Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
